keep up the momentum!
i just wanted to let everyone know (who doesn't already)
that the presentation in dr. whitworth's sustainability class
on monday went pretty well. a lot of people painted their hands
on the banner and signed up on the email list.
after the class, dr. whitworth talked to me for a minute and just
encouraged us to keep pushing and working towards our goals.
i think we've already taken a lot of steps to make sure we
don't fall into the "tcu fair trade cycle" again, but we just
need to keep up the momentum and increase it once we get back
from spring break. i hope everyone has a wonderful productive
and relaxing spring break and that we all come back with a lot
of energy and ideas.
let's make it happen!

CALL FOR ACTION!
So this week is looking pretty good. We got the tabling on Thursday and the meeting on Friday. However, we need some action, some goal that we are aiming towards after this Friday's meeting in order to keep momentum going and the engine roaring. I guess the questions are: What is our first goal? What do we want our first action to be to accomplish this goal? Can it in some way involve finger paint?

GREAT meeting yesterday, everyone.
To update those who had to leave early-
Ricky is setting up the logistics so that we can have a table and sell chocolate on Thursday (Valentine's Day). This will be a great start for the semester, and will give us to publicize for the EDUCATIONAL MEETING we will be having next friday. Seth is in charge of putting together the details but we should all participate. If you have any ideas or activities we can use to teach people about fair trade, let Seth know.
More details soon.

This video is great. It's depressing and uplifting in all the right ways. Show this to as many people as you can.
support a new ft coffeehouse!
a friend of mine directed me to this site. if you click the link and register, you can vote for this idea. if she wins, she'll get 10 grand to start up her very own fair trade organic coffee house, which, incidentally, is exactly what i want to do in about 10 years.
a good idea.

Hey guys,
It's about time we got this thing up and running. I invited most of the key folk that are still around. If there's anyone I missed, feel free to send them an invite.
A couple of things to think about:
The meeting on friday. There's been discussion of having meetings somewhere else other than Panther City this semester. Reasons: On-campus locations are more recognizable and memorable to potential new members. If the meeting is somewhere they've never been, or even heard of, they're probably a lot less likely to come. I personally think it would be great if we could use some dry erase boards somewhere so that we can visualize the group's train of thought. Another thought- I think we should choose a bigger space so we have room to grow. We should start setting new heights for our group.
If not this meeting, maybe by the next one we should try for a new space.
Thoughts?
